Hockey card fraud

Police have charged an Erin man with fraud after uncovering an alleged scheme involving  the rookie card of Toronto Maple Leafs phenom Auston Matthews.

Wellington County OPP officials say a victim transferred money in exchange for “collectors Canadian currency” and the Matthews card but never received the items.

The alleged fraudulent transaction took place via the website “LetGo.”

Gordon Leslie, 31, of Erin, was charged with fraud under $5,000 and is to appear in Guelph court on June 6.
