Hit and run

OSPRINGE – An Erin resident has been charged after a driver failed to remain at the scene of a vehicle collision.

On Aug. 26 at about 11:30pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a report of collision involving a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle at Wellington Roads 124 and 125.

Police say the passenger vehicle was stopped at the intersection when a pickup truck committed an unsafe manoeuvre, causing damage to the passenger vehicle. The pickup truck then drove away from the scene, police say.

A 53-year-old from Erin was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
