Hillsburgh residents charged after police seize guns from home

HILLSBURGH – Two local residents face a number of firearm charges after police seized close to 30 guns from a home here.

On Nov. 30, 2021, Wellington County OPP officers, with the assistance of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and Canadian Border Security Agency, executed a search warrant at a residence on Orangeville Street in the village of Hillsburgh.

“OPP entered the home and seized a quantity of firearms and firearms accessories,” police stated in a press release.

Angelo D’Urso, 35, and Tanya-Lee Trepanier, 33, of Hillsburgh, have been charged with a number of firearms acquisition and storage offences.

Both are to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
