Hillsburgh High Tea held May 5

The High Tea and High Heels fundraising event hosted on May 5, at St. Andrew’s Church in Hillsburgh raised over $2,400 for East Wellington Community Services.

There were 100 ladies who attended the tea – many dressed for the occasion, complete with hats featuring British styled fascinators.

Local Girl Guides assisted with serving tea, sweets, sandwiches, helping in the kitchen, handing out gift bags, hosting at the front doors, and did a wonderful job in helping make this event a success. The bidding was fierce at the silent auction with the “pamper me” baskets that featured spa and reflexology treatments, a golfing package, luxurious scents and bath products, dinner gift certificates and more.

Organizers thank all the fantastic sponsors who generously donated the items featured in the silent auction, and those who generously donated food and decoration for the event, noting that without the support,  the event would not have been possible.

Jo Fillery, from What’s Cookin’ in Erin, organized catering of the event, featuring hand made scones.

“The event was a lot of fun – the hats were just outstanding! East Wellington Community Services has been in the community for such a long time providing programs and helping many in the community with their programs and services that we wanted to do our part. This event is a perfect way for us to give EWCS support and help the agency continue to thrive.” said Fillery.
