High fuel prices skew townships budget
Local government, just like citizens, is feeling the effects of high fuel prices this year.
Finance director Mike Givens told Mapleton council on Aug. 16 high fuel costs are increasing overall costs. He said, “Fleet numbers are pretty high this year - repairs and fuel.”
Givens did have a little good News, adding, “They aren’t overall large numbers - but they are depressing.”
Mayor Bruce Whale said he had heard fuel prices are coming down.
