Herb, garden fair at museum

On June 21the Wellington County Museum hosts its annual Summer Thyme Herb and Garden Fair.

Exploring the theme of the “culinary use of herbs” the fair has culinary herbalist and auth­or Pat Crocker doing a food demonstration at 1pm.

In addi­tion, Nathalie McNeill, of the Fountain Head Café, will present the commercial use of organics and herbs, and Krista Harrington, of From These Roots, will do a demonstration on the culinary use of edible flow­ers.

There will be many vendors of herbs, herbal products, perennials, and garden related items, plus many family ori­en­ted hands-on activities includ­ing “potting up” a own starter herb garden.

Discuss garden issues with the resident staff gardener, Liane Howell, and see her work in the various heritage gardens.

The fair runs 9am to 4pm, rain or shine on the grounds of the Wellington County Muse­um and Archives.

Admission is $2 per person.

Entertainment for the afternoon will be provided by the Playford Players.
