HELDER, Jan. Went to be with his Lord and saviour on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 63 years of Henderika (Huizinga) Helder. Loving father of Betty Scholten (John) of Guelph, Tom Helder (Tammy) of Welland, Clarence Helder (Pat) of Niagara Falls, Anita Heinisch (Chuck) of Belwood, Andy Helder (Janet) of Guelph, Ed Helder (Carolin) of Calgary, AB, Rita Medemblik (Terry) of Grand Rapids, MI, Wendy vanTol (Rob) of Fergus, Fred Helder of Guelph and Lynda Lodder (Calvin) of Fergus. Proud Opa to 40 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Klaas and Berber Helder; brothers, Edgar and Harry, one infant daughter and two infant grandchildren. Friends called at Emmanuel Canadian Reformed Church, 8037 Hwy 7, Guelph, on Tuesday, January 5th from 2-4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the church on Wednesday, January 6th at 11 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to Project Eagles Nest, Emmanuel Christian High School Association would be appreciated.
