Health team to hold sessions on anxiety and depression

ROCKWOOD – A six-week series of group sessions using the concepts of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is designed to help people understand and manage the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Participants will learn how to identify, question and change the thoughts, attitudes and beliefs that lead to difficult reactions and behaviors. 

This free program offered by the East Wellington Family Health Team, will teach simple yet powerful steps people can take to overcome emotional distress and feel happier. 

It is meant for people over age 18 who suffer from symptoms of low mood, anxiety, frequent worrying and ruminating thoughts 

The series runs April 11 and 18 and May 2, 9, 16 and 23, from 1 to 3pm, at the Rockwood clinic, 175 Alma Street, Rockwood. 

Sessions are facilitated by mental health therapists.
