Hawks’ Nest announces new sponsor

NEUSTADT – The Saugeen Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) have announced Hammond Power Solutions (HPS) as the fourth corporate sponsor for the Hawks’ Nest competition.

“HPS is thrilled to support an initiative that not only empowers local entrepreneurs but also strengthens economic growth across Grey County, Bruce County, Wellington North, Minto and Owen Sound,” states HPS manager of corporate coorperations and community relations Stefanie Bradley.

“This event aligns with our commitment to fostering innovation, supporting small businesses, and contributing to vibrant communities.

“By investing in Hawks Nest, we are also investing in the local economy, building valuable connections, and enhancing our role as a trusted partner in the region’s prosperity.”

The Hawks’ Nest is a Dragons Den inspired competition where new and existing businesses and entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas in an attempt to secure financial support from local “Hawk” investors.

The final six adults and one youth pitch their business ideas to the Hawks in front of a live audience on June 18 at the Hanover Civic Theatre.

A number of interested business owners and entrepreneurs have submitted a detailed business plan, officials state.

The Hawks’ Nest will be announcing six high profile business leaders in the local area who have committed to invest a minimum of $5,000 on one or more of the finalists that evening.

“Not only is there a minimum $30,000 up for grabs; the finalists will leave with valuable feedback, coaching, mentorship and immeasurable exposure to kick start their business ideas,” officials state.
