Hawke, Leonard Charles; Peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, on Sunday night, June 28, 2009. Born March 29, 1934 at Eady, Medonte Township, second youngest son of the late Edwin Hawke, and Margaret Jennett. Step son of Emma Thrasher. Dear brother of Lawrence, Garnet, Manley, and Gerald. Brother in-law of the late Doreen Hawke, survived by sisters-in-law Hilda and Edna. Beloved husband of Bea (Beulah Edwards) and dearest father of Marvyn, (Elizabeth) of Barrie, Kathryn, (late Murray Wilson) of Brampton, Lorna (Kurt Bowman) of Acton, and Sonia Ahrens and friend (Herb Edwards). Cherished poppa of Jon, Taylor, Chris, Kyle, Devyn, Dana, Mikaela, Ethan, and Matthew. Resting at the Butcher Family Funeral Home, 5399 Main St. S., Erin, where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 11am. Interment will take place at Vasey Cemetary at 4pm. Visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Groves Memorial Hospital C.T. Scanner Fund, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
