Harriston youth dead after single-vehicle collision

MINTO – A 16-year-old Harriston youth is dead after a single-vehicle collision in Palmerston on Friday night.

According to a Wellington County OPP press release, on Aug. 26 at around 8pm, emergency services responded to a reported single-vehicle crash on Minto Road.

Police, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Palmerston Fire Department responders attended and the 16-year-old driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At the family’s request, police are not releasing the name of the youth.

Wellington County OPP continue investigating with assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.
