HARRISTON – Harriston United Church has issued a challenge to the community and aiming to collect 1,000 pairs of new underwear by the end of June to aid Ukrainian refugees.

“Whenever you’re collecting or gathering for any relief thing you never get any underwear,” said mission coordinator Bev May on the collection choice.

Dubbed the “Bloomer Blitz,” the drive is accepting underwear for any size or age of person. They will be sent to Poland, where millions of Ukrainians have fled to escape Russian invaders, along with other supplies being contributed to the cause.

“All they’ve got is what they’re wearing,” added May, emphasizing the donation’s importance.

For more information, or to arrange a donation drop off contact May at 519-338-2825, 6204 Wellington Rd 109 in Minto.
