WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Wellington County Museum and Archives has many spooky events happening this month.
Cemetery Tours
Coming up on Oct. 24 and 25 are the museum’s Cemetery Tours, from 7 to 8pm and 9 to 10pm.
Guests will have the opportunity to join a lantern-lit walk to the Poor House Cemetery.
This 14-plus event is fully outdoors, rain or shine, and has limited accessibility.
Registration is required and tickets cost $15 plus HST.
Murder Mystery
On the same days from 7 to 9:30pm is the Murder Mystery event.
Guests will be asked to find evidence, connect clues, question suspects all while enjoying a small meal, dessert and drink.
Registration is required to attend with two ticket options.
Option one costs $40 for a non-drinking ticket and option two costs $50 for a drinking ticket.
Officials encourage guests to come event dressed with themed costumes.
Hallow’Tots
The Hallow’Tots event will occur on the big day from 10 to 11am.
Crafts, sensory play and trick-or-treating will be available for all to enjoy.
Registration spots for this event are limited to 50.
When registering, only register the participating children as adults don’t need to register.
Admission is by donation.
Beyond the Veil
Another event on Oct. 31 will be the Beyond the Veil after-dark event.
Participants will get the chance to explore the Wellington County Museum and Archives after dark on the evenings of Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
Tour times include:
– Oct. 31 from 9 to 11pm;
– Nov. 1 from 9 to 11am; and
– Nov. 1 from 12 to 2am.
Tickets are sold for $30 plus HST with registration required.
This event is geared for ages 14 plus.
Pumpkin Walk
The last event to end Halloween is the Pumpkin Walk on Nov. 1.
This free event runs from 9:30am to 4:30pm at the museum’s heritage barn.
Those unsure what to do with their jack-o-lanterns after Halloween can bring them by the museum during those hours.
All will be displayed at the barn and lit up one last time.
The walk will begin at 6pm and end at 8pm.
