Hall of fame musician Bob Egan comes to Eden Mills
EDEN MILLS – The Eden Mills Community Hall will welcome musician Bob Egan – renowned for his work with Blue Rodeo, Wilco and The Tragically Hip – on April 12 at 2pm to perform Tales, Tunes and the Truth, an afternoon of songs and stories from his adventurous life and career.
Egan pulls back the curtain on 25 years of touring the world, weaving his heartfelt songs with the anecdotes and insights only an insider could gather, officials say.
He shares the grueling journey he travelled through the darkness of failure, defeat and overwhelming odds into the light of living his childhood dream, officials say.
“In these unprecedented, turbulent times of uncertainty and relentless change, I realized just how important is it for people to gather and be entertained. I also saw this as an opportunity to share the life-changing wisdom passed on to me by icons like Emmylou Harris, Gord Downey, Keith Richards and Johnny Cash. To be able to present this show to benefit this amazing, volunteer-run venue is an honour.”
Since 2000, Egan has received 20 gold/platinum records and Juno Awards. In 2012 he was inducted as a member of Blue Rodeo into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. He received the Governor Generals Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Performing Arts in 2014.
Officials warn of a limited amount of seating. Tickets are available for $30 for adults and $10 for students.
The hall is located at 104 York St.
