Guelph Yoga, Wellness Festival returns Aug. 30
GUELPH – The Guelph Yoga and Wellness Festival (GYWF) is coming to town to celebrate the popular Eastern spiritual and physical practice.
On Aug. 30, the Frank Hasenfratz Centre will host 20 classes, 25 wellness exhibitors and a charity raffle supporting Hospice Wellington.
Intended as an alternative to the traditional “wellness retreat,” the GYWF instead invites those interested to make a brief departure from routine and explore different ways to improve their mind and body.
This year’s festival will also include small group educational workshops, complimentary health and wellness services and more than $8,000 in charity raffle prizes.
The festival will consist of morning and afternoon sessions, from 9am to noon and 1 to 4pm.
“Many of us know that we need to take better care of ourselves, but finding the time, resources or even knowing where to begin can be difficult,” says festival founder Dr. Kirstie Griffiths, a Guelph-based chiropractor and yoga teacher.
Half-day tickets are $73, while there is sliding-scale pricing for full-day tickets.
“You don’t have to already practise yoga to belong here,” said Griffiths.
