Guelph woman charged with careless driving causing death

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Police have charged a Guelph woman with careless driving causing death in connection with a fatal two-vehicle crash here in September.

Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews responded to the collision, north of Guelph at the intersection of Highway 6 and Wellington Road 38, on Sept. 20 at about 8:45pm.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle – Brian L. Jolley, 47, of Fergus – was pronounced dead at scene, while the driver of the car was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

On Jan. 30 police announced Rosalind Ferneyhough, 80, of Guelph, was charged with careless driving causing death.

She is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
