Guelph social worker, radio host releases first book of poetry

GUELPH – A Guelph radio show host has written and published her first book of poetry.

Sherice Alishaw, host of It’s a Vibe with Sherice on 102.7 CKMS, 98.5 CKWR and 93.3 CFRU, recently published Journey Through the Darkness on Amazon.

According to a press release, the poems follow “the journey of life, going through its ups, downs and everything in between. It includes poetry about love, healing, unrequited love and feeling lost in life.”

Alishaw was born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo and now lives in Guelph.

She is a social worker by day and hosts the radio shows in her off-hours.

The radio program strives to educate the community about abuse, trauma, consent and mental health, and her poetry reflects the same values, the release states.

While difficult topics, the poetry is “easily relatable and offers a unique perspective of the world,” it states.

Journey Through the Darkness is available on Amazon.ca.
