Guelph Ribfest returns as drive-through event

GUELPH – Ribfest is returning to Guelph.

The Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium has announced that its popular Ribfest will be a drive-through experience this year, although the ribs will be tender and finger-licking good, organizers say.

The event is slated for Aug. 27 to 29 in the parking lot at Centennial CVI in Guelph.

For over 22 years the club has been bringing together Ribs & Rotary – raising more than $1 million to support local Guelph charities.

“No tickets necessary – drive-thru all weekend long! We can’t wait to see you at Guelph Ribfest and while the set up will be different, the BBQ will be delicious, and your participation will help raise money for some outstanding local charities” Ribfest co-chairs  Dan O’Donnell and Sonia Spekkens stated in a press release.

Food will be provided by three popular ribbers – Billy Bones BBQ (Canada) from Port Colborne with their mouth-watering sauces; the Silver Bullet BBQ team from Guelph with their finger licking good BBQ; and the Boss Hogs BBQ team from London will bring their smokin’ ribs for the ultimate barbeque experience, organizers say.
