Guelph man wins $100,000 in Lotto 6/49 plans to buy new furniture, television

GUELPH – A 78-year-old father and grandfather is the latest local lottery winner.

Aldo Moretti, of Guelph, won $100,000 in the Jan. 13 LOTTO 6/49 draw.

Moretti said when he was checking his numbers on OLG.ca he thought he won just $100.

“I took a photo of it and sent it to my son. I told him I am going to buy a new wagon for my groceries!” he said. “My son told me I won $100,000! I almost fell down I was so surprised.”

Moretti said he plans to save as much as he can for his future, so he has what he requires as he ages.

“I would love to travel and go back to Italy, but we can’t do that now. So, I’ll treat myself to new furniture and a new television,” he stated.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Silvercreek Parkway in Guelph.
