Guelph Humane Society hosting microchip clinic
GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society is hosting a low-cost microchip clinic for dogs and cats on Sept. 26.
“When a lost pet comes through our doors, there is often a family searching and waiting for news,” said the humane society education and community outreach coordinator Arayelle Young.
“A registered microchip can turn a quick scan into the phone call that brings that pet home.”
The chip is planted under the skin. It cannot be used to track the pet. It has an ID number, read with a scanner, that connects to a registry.
The clinic runs from 10am to 3pm at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd. The cost is $40 per pet.
