Guelph-Eramosa council held a public meeting regarding the stopping up and closure of “Unnamed Street,” Evert’s Portion southeast of Main Street in Rockwood.

“This road allowance has been deemed by the township as surplus to the needs of the municipality,” wrote clerk Amanda Knight in a report to council.

“It is therefore, the recommendation of staff that this road allowance be stopped up and closed.”

No area residents attended the public meeting to comment on the intent to close the road allowance.

“Staff received a request from an adjacent property owner to purchase the unopened road allowance ... which abuts their property,” the report said.

Council passed the bylaw to stop up and close the unnamed street, Evert’s Portion, Plan 70.
