Guelph-Eramosa celebrates National Seniors Day

The Township of Guelph-Eramosa invites seniors within the community to a National Seniors Day celebration on Oct. 1.

To acknowledge the important contribution of seniors, the township will be hosting a number of activities throughout the day on Oct. 1, with a free light lunch with entertainment starting at 11am. in the Rockmosa Older Adult Centre, located at 85 Christie Street.

Fitness classes, games and presentations are just some of the activities planned.

“We are proud to pay tribute to seniors on this day and to thank them for the valuable contributions they have made, and continue to make, in our families, workplaces, and communities,” said Mayor Chris White. “National Seniors Day is an occasion for people in Guelph-Eramosa and across Canada to join together as a nation to honour and celebrate this country’s seniors.”

National Seniors Day, which coincides with the United Nations International Day of Older Persons, is an occasion for Canadians to celebrate and appreciate seniors.
