This one-day workshop on Sept. 20 from 9am to 4pm will emphasize diversity and help participants learn to grow their own native trees and shrubs from seed.

Characteristic seeds for the workshop will be collected while touring part of The Arboretum. Participants will learn, first hand, various techniques for cleaning, treating and sowing seeds and how to protect them as seeds and young plants.

A tour of the Arboretum’s native plant nursery will help participants set up their own project.

Horticulturist Sean Fox will lead this workshop at the Arboretum.

The early bird registration deadline is Sept. 12 and the fee is $75 plus HST. After that date the fee is $85 plus HST.

To register on-line please go to www.uoguelph.ca/arboretum. For further information call (519) 824-4120 extension 52358.
