FERGUS – It was all smiles at the Green Lanes event on Sept. 16 at James McQueen Public School. The free, family-friendly event had the roads around the school closed off for safe cycling. After each lap of the school, cyclists pulled into the pit stop to receive a colourful bead for their bike spokes. In the school yard, younger children got to try out some new push bikes. A bike stand was set up to handle any quick tune-ups. Green Lanes is a not-for-profit organization focused on making a happier, healthier community. Green Lanes acknowledges and appreciates the community grant it received from the Township of Centre Wellington in order to run this event.
