MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Secondary School girls hockey team had a great season, finishing in third place with five wins, four losses, and three ties. The Wolverines had an exciting playoff run, starting with their semi-final game against Norwell District Secondary School. The Wolverines were behind 2-0, and 3-2 during the game, but rallied to defeat Norwell by a score of 4-3, and moved on to the District 4 finals against first-place Centre Dufferin District Secondary School from Shelburne. In the finals, the Wolverines found themselves behind 2-0. Once again, Wellington Heights rallied to tie the game at 2-2 and send it into overtime. After a scoreless, 10-minute, three-on-three sudden-victory period, the game advanced to a shootout, where the Wolverines ultimately lost 4-2.
