It's going to be a busy long weekend at GRCA parks throughout the region with four major events happening this Saturday.
Guelph Lake Conservation Area
Guelph Lake Conservation Area sets the stage for this popular Trisport Triathlon and Duathlon weekend. Participate in a Try-a-tri, the Duathlon or the Traithlon. This event features a variety of distances at the same great site as the June Triathlon and a safe, fast course. For more information, please view the TriSport Canada website.
Creepy Creatures
At the Rockwood Conservation Area, it's all about creepy creatures at 2pm. Cuddle a rat, hold a snake, and wear a cockroach broach. Fun for the whole family. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the trailer by the mini-putt. The event is free with park admission.
Animal Show
From 10am to noon the Laurel Creek Conservation Area is holding an animal show. Participants can meet a live animal or two borrowed from our nature centre, and examine a collection of skulls, fur and feathers of different animals that are commonly found in the area. The event is free with park admission.
Bug hunt
Watch your step this Saturday at the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area – at least from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The world is full of tiny creatures; catch and release a net-full of 6- or 8-legged superstars. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the Sunset Pavilion. The event is free with park admission.
