GRCA offers winter activities
CAMBRIDGE – Six Grand River Conservation Areas offer winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing.
Ice Fishing
Belwood, Guelph and Pinehurst lakes, and Shade’s Mills offer ice fishing.
When the ice is too thin or unstable due to reservoir operations, ice fishing is not permitted. Check online (grandriver.ca) for up-to-date information on conditions.
Skiing, snowshoeing
Guelph Lake, Laurel Creek, Pinehurst Lake and Shade’s Mills offer snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, with some trails groomed and/or track set.
Equipment is available for rent.
Availability is weather-dependent and conditions frequently change – check online for conservation area status.
