Grand Taste event May 1

Food lovers, circle the calendar for a celebration of area restaurants, chefs and local food producers.

The sixth annual Grand Taste, presented by the Centre Wellington Rotary Club, is on May 1 from noon to 4 pm at the Grand River Raceway.

Proceeds from are directed to the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation CT Plus Campaign.

Centre Wellington participating eateries include: Breadalbane Inn, Brew House, Cellar Pub and Grill, Cork, Fergie’s Fine Foods, Frabert’s Fresh Foods,  Fountain Head Café, Getaway Restaurant, Goofie Newfie Bar & Grill, Grand River Caterers, Log Cabin Heaven, Uptown Cafe, and  Van Gali’s Café and Inn.

Grand Taste provides an opportunity for  introduction to the restaurants and culinary talent  in the area. 

Each chef will prepare a favourite dish for patrons to sample.

Area food growers and producers will provide food samples and information on what to expect to find on the back roads and area farmers’ markets this summer.

Guelph’s F&M Brewery will participate. Adrian Jones and Kim Regimbal will provide entertainment.

In addition to the food samples, a silent auction will be held for food, cuisine and entertainment theme auction items, including gift certificates from Grand Taste participants and supporters.

Tickets for the Grand Taste are $30 per person and may be purchased in Fergus at Scotiabank, which matches funds for tickets purchased there, or in Elora at The Uptown Cafe, 140 Metcalfe Street. Tickets are also available from Centre Wellington Rotarians.
