Goalies goal seals win for Drayton Midget team

It is no easy feat and something very rarely accomplished, but on Oct. 30 in a game against Arthur, Drayton Midget goalie Adam Kalbfleisch scored his first goal.

In the second period Brad Alton opened the scoring with a great shot from the point. With five minutes left in the second period Drew Moore picked up a loose puck and buried it “bar down.”

With the score 2-0 and two minutes left in the game, Arthur decided to pull their goalie. Arthur then shot the puck into the Drayton end.

Kalbflesich stopped the puck behind the net and looked to shoot it up the boards to draw Arthur players away from the centre of the ice.  He turned to come out from behind the net and fired the puck the length of the ice into the open net. Drayton won the game 3-0 and now has a record of five wins, including three shutouts, and three losses.
