GILLEN, Georgina Maria Bridget (Lowe)

GILLEN, Georgina Maria Bridget (Lowe) 1940-2015. Passed away peacefully at The Wellington Terrace in her 76th year with her loving husband Jim by her side on Tuesday September 29th. Mourning their loss are her children Jacinta (James) Cassidy, Kevin Gillen and Patrick Gillen as well as grandchildren Olivia Gillen, Riley Mae Gillen and cousin Colette Brodie. Predeceased by her mother Gladys (Conway) Firth, sister Barbara (Lowe) Wilson and grandmother Sarah Conway. All her life was spent working with the vulnerable people and children in many different roles. She was always a brave person who was a protector of the weak. Visitation for Georgina was held at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David  Street South, Fergus on Thursday October 1st from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Memorial Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Fergus on Friday October 2nd at 11am followed by a time of reception in the church hall. The family has requested that donations be directed towards the Alzheimer’s Society.
