ERIN - The OPP evacuated some residents of downtown Erin as a precaution early Monday morning after a sidewalk snow plow operator struck a natural gas line, causing a leak.

Police closed Main Street from Dundas Street to Wellington Road 52 at 5:15am on Jan. 6, and Enbridge Gas was called to repair the leak.

OPP spokesperson Cheri Rockefeller said the road re-opened at about 7:30am.
