Garage fire in Mapleton destroys building, damage estimated around $50,000
Garage destroyed by fire - Firefighters from Mapleton Fire Rescue’s Drayton and Moorefield stations responded to a garage fire on Kumpfville Road in Mapleton on Dec. 16 around 6:45pm. The fire destroyed a detached garage on the property but firefighters prevented any damage to a residence just 10 feet away. Fire Chief Rick Richardson said damage is estimated at around $50,000.
