Gallery Concert Series celebrating its 25th year

The Gallery Concert Series celebrates its 25th year on Oct. 5 at 2pm.

This volunteer series of live music in the the Exhibition Hall at the Wellington County Museum and Archives is an affordable and accessible musical experience, offering a variety of instrumental and vocal programs.

There will be a special opening tribute to Fred Webb, who passed away in the spring of this year. Webb was the president of the Gallery Concert Group. He made an indelible mark on audiences with his original opening fanfares played on a garden hose.

The first concert will be one for viola and piano, with performers Henry Janzen and Dr. Robert Hall, featuring music by Brahms and Mendelssohn.

Both musicians come with a long list of accolades. Janzen has held tenures as principal viola in the Windsor Symphony and Michigan Opera. He teaches applied and chamber music at the University of Guelph, and is a conductor and music director of the Hart House Orchestra at the University of Toronto.

Hall completed his undergraduate degree in piano performance at Wilfred Laurier University, and spent several years as professional chorister with Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Tudor Singers of Montreal. Hall has a doctorate in choral music.

Refreshments will be provided after the concert. Tickets are available at the door. The concerts are sponsored by the WCMA in partnership with the Elora Arts Council.
