Gala evening to aid Big Brothers, Sisters

Tickets are now on sale for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph’s 13th annual Have a Heart For Kids Sake – an evening of dinner, dancing and auction, presented by Meridian Credit Union.
Dance at the gala fundraiser on Feb. 9 at Guelph Place banquet hall. Dinner is followed by live and silent auctions and dancing to the music of Sound Samsation Entertainment. Tickets, available until Feb. 1, are $60 per person or $550 for a table of ten.
There will be more than 200 items featured in the live and silent auctions including Via Rail tickets for four, a cottage getaway, tickets to sporting events, a week at an Ontario resort, framed art, dance lessons, and much more. Donations of items and gift certificates for the auction, as well as cash donations are needed.
Sponsors for the event include presenting partner Meridian Credit Union; platinum partners Hoyes Michalos & Associates, Investors Group, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Compusense Inc., and BMO Nesbitt Burns.
All proceeds will be used to fund programs and services that assist the 400 children and youth in the Guelph area in need of friendships and positive mentoring. Over 100 children are currently waiting to be matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor.
Those children could wait up to three years before being matched with a volunteer.
