Fusion lose in semi-finals, ending a great season

The Centre Wellington Fusion Novice ‘AA’ team lost out in the OMHA semi-finals after an amazing year, say team officials.

The Fusion captured one gold and three silvers at tournaments this season, but lost 3-2 to Orangeville during the semi-finals of the OMHA playoffs.

The team consists of Nathan Bakker, Sam Black, Carter Billings, Owen Hahn, Kyle Henderson, Ethan Lawrence, Nick Leader, Griffin Mackie, Easton Martin, Owen McKee, Jacob Middleton, Nathan Renaud, Alex Rossi and Evan Vaneykeren as well as coaches, Ryan Black, Randy Coverdale, Jeff Ryder and trainer Bert Rossi.

The Fusion won the quarter final OMHA series 3-2 over Guelph.

In the semi-final against Orangeville the Fusion lost game one on Feb. 25 3-0. Their second game on Feb. 27 saw a 4-1 win and a 2-1 win in the third game on March 3. But on March 4 Orangeville got control, defeating the Fusion 3-1. In the final game in Elora on March 6, the Fusion lost 5-1.
