The Centre Wellington Fusion Minor Bantam AA team competed in the International Silver Stick Finals last weekend.

Some of the best teams in North America participate in this tournament.

The boys opened the tournament against the Barrie Colts. It was a tight game with a lot of speed and the local  boys managed to earn a 1-1 tie.

Next up was the Troy Sting who are rated number one in the U.S. The Fusion came out strong getting a 3-1 lead but couldn’t hold on and lost 4-3.

Next was the Midland North Stars, and in this game the Fusion turned it on, winning 8-0. Christian Linton earned the shut out.

The team’s final round robin game was against Traverse City. The team fought hard right up until the final buzzer and tied 3-3. Unfortunately, the boys were short one point in the round robin and not able to move on.

Points in the tournament went to (goals, assists): Caleb Willmets (3,2), Jakson Kirk (3,2), Max Hattle (1,4), Jack McDonald (3,1), Caleb Cribbin (1,3), Darren Eby (3 assists), Trent Collins (2 goals), Jake Ristov (1,1), Zac Hatch (2 assists), Logan Rayner (1 goal), Owen Moyer, Zac Tofflemire (1 assist each).
