FERGUS – The Fergus Curling Club hosted its final bonspiel of the season on April 12 and 13.

The event featured the third annual Curl Koob, a game developed by head ice technician Andy Maine.

The bonspiel also saw the introduction of a new game, Rock n’ Bowl, to finish the year on the ice.

The club’s four ice sheets were divided into eight bowling lanes, with curlers aiming to knock over 21 “pins” in each lane and score points with their rocks.

This brand-new game was a great success and may return for next year’s event.

The Fergus Curling Club floor committee would like to recognize the sponsors for this event, including Fleming Fast Freight, Dixon‘s Home Hardware, Parallel Financial Services, M1 Real Estate, and Grand River Outfitting.

The committee is grateful for the support of the Sunday morning Legion curlers, the volunteer ice crew, and all others who contributed to the event.
