Four-year deal reached with firefighters

Following a closed session meeting on July 21, Centre Wellington Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj announced a negotiated settlement with the Fergus-Elora firefighters association for the period of  April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2018. Staff are to prepare the appropriate bylaw and supporting documentation.

Ross-Zuj said this means a secured agreement for four more years, noting, “It’s a good contract.” She added, “It’s great to see such cooperation with our firefighters and it shows their goodwill to give us a four-year contract. This moves us into a really good position with our firefighters.”
