The Wellington County Buy Local Buy Fresh map will be off the press June 1, and the launch will be a celebration of local food.

Cox Creek Winery on Highway 6 between Guelph and Fergus, Wellington County’s only winery, will be hosting the launch of the 2008 map on June 1, from 2 to 5pm. It is a free, family event and features:

- guest speaker Anita Stewart, gastronomer and food activist, who will share favourite county local food experiences;

- guided tours of the winery, taste testing, demonstrations of local foods;

- live music through the afternoon featuring The Funky Mamas, Amy McCain, Ken Morris, and Richard Maynard-Langedijk; and

- a Buy Local Buy Fresh onsite marketplace.

The map is full colour, easy to read and can be used year round. This year’s map has over 60 listings for local food and farm products, including pick-your-own operations, community supported agri-culture and regional markets.
