Five days of wellness: UGDSB celebrates Mental Health and Education Week
UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE IN GUELPH (Advertiser file photo)

GUELPH – The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) will participating in Mental Health and Education Week again this year, from May 6 to 10.

Students and staff will focus on the theme “Five Days of Wellness.”

Each day throughout the week, the UGDSB community will explore an aspect of wellness. Daily topics are:

  • what is wellness;
  • the language of wellness;
  • the science of wellness;
  • connection to nature; and
  • the practice of wellness. As with previous years, the UGDSB Mental Health and Education Week committee hosted a student contest asking for student designed logo submissions.

This year's winner is Jordan C, a Grade 12 student at Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute.

Classrooms will submit summaries of their learning as part of the Mental Health and Education Week Classroom Challenge.

Submissions can be a video, PDF, slide deck or any other form of media of all the areas of wellness they focused on during the week.

For the latest Mental Health and Education Week content from the UGDSB follow the board's social media accounts and #MHUG.
