First Kisses coming to Ennotville Summer Theatre on July 24

The Ennotville Summer Theatre series continues with First Kisses, a romantic comedy by Jay D. Hanagan, opening on July 24.

The play is a simple, funny, life story of, in the words of the playwright, “a boy who becomes and man, and a girl who becomes a woman.”

In a series of humourous vignettes, the play tells the story of John and Mary, from their first meeting at age 11 throughout the rest of their lives. Packed perfectly between the laughs is plenty of charm – a true heart warmer, and the perfect romantic night out for couples of all ages. Kids, teens, young singles, newlyweds, parents, grandparents and seniors will all find something to laugh about.

The play is directed by Stacey Ingham, making her directorial debut at age 19.

"Although it is sometimes a bit frustrating trying to pull a summer play together we are all having fun and working hard,” said Ingham. “We’re looking forward to opening night and hoping we get a great crowd."

Grinder Productions executive director Eric Goudie agreed, and had nothing but praise for his young directorial talent.

“I’ve been very impressed with how well Stacey has handled the challenges of production,” he said. “I think this is going to be one of the nicest, funniest romantic comedies we’ve ever put on at the Ennotville Library.”

The show runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm, with 2pm Saturday matinees, until Aug. 9. Tickets are $15, with a group rate of $12 for groups of ten or more. Tickets may be reserved by calling the Grinder box office at 519-780-7593, by visiting the website at www.grinderproductions.org, or at the door.
