First annual volunteer recruitment night a success

Centre Wellington Township, Elora and Fergus Tourism along with RT04 hosted the first volunteer recruitment night on March 7 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex. Twenty not-for-profit organizations participated in the event, showcasing individual groups from service clubs, fairs and events. Elora Festival and Singers general manager Chris Sharpe noted “our festival had success in recruiting a wide variety of volunteers who are interested in volunteering with our organization this year. I was especially pleased with the number of high school students and younger folks interested in working behind the scenes at a large music festival in a variety of roles from box office administration to sound and lighting.” It was an opportunity for the public to discover the many volunteer opportunities available in Centre Wellington.
