Firefighters’ toll booth fundraiser for muscular dystrophy can go ahead

FERGUS - The Fergus Firefighters Association will be holding a toll booth fundraiser in support of on Sept. 12 in downtown Fergus.

Centre Wellington council approved a by-law request at its meeting on Aug. 24. The toll booth will operate on Tower Street from 8am to 4pm on Sept. 12.

This has been an annual fundraiser for the firefighters for many years, and the association has determined it can be done safely, despite pandemic restrictions.

“I love that they do this every year,” said Mayor Kelly Linton. “And I’m glad to see they are moving ahead with it.”
