Fire set at local home while occupants slept

Police are seeking the public’s assistance to help solve a recent  arson case.

On Sept. 6 at about 3:54am Wellington County OPP responded, along with the Mount Forest Fire Department,  to an arson incident at a residence on Martin Street in Mount Forest.

Police say two people were sleeping in the residence at the time the fire was set. The fire was contained to the back entrance way of the residence and no one was injured, police add. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office was notified but did not attend.
