Erin Mayor Rod Finnie’s patience is becoming as worn as the carpet he wants replaced at the Erin branch county library.

At county council on March 26, Finnie again asked if anything is being done to replace the carpet at the county library branch at Centre 2000. He had noted at the previous month’s meeting that it is quite worn.

This month, he said, “It really is becoming a health and safety issue.”

Library committee liaison Brad Whitcombe noted that the Upper Grand District School Board is responsible because it owns the building.

“Perhaps a friendly reminder would help,” he said.

In other library business, there will be a library tour and the library board will have an opportunity to see most of the facilities.

The tour was being considered for April 2 or 3, and, if possible, would be completed in a single day. Chief Librarian Janice Hindley was to organize it.
