Filmmakers speaking at EAC art lecture

Centre Wellington filmmakers Eliza Crosland and Mary Lalonde will be guest speakers for Elora Arts Council’s second lecture in the three-part winter series art lectures.

They will be speaking on Feb. 12 at 2pm in the Elora Library Community Room, lower level. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Crosland is an award winning filmmaker. Her work has screened across North America and internationally.

After completing a theatre degree at York University, she turned to digital story telling when she moved to Fergus and joined Ed Video Media Arts Center in Guelph.

Lalonde’s interest in filmmaking grew out of her studies at the University of Guelph, where she graduated with a bachelor of arts in women’s studies in 2005.

Since then she has been a member and volunteer of Ed Video Media Arts Centre.

Crosland and Lalonde are partners in Maple Sugar Films, creator of the Savvy Spinster web series, which has won several international awards, including best directing at the Miami Web Series Festival in 2015, best supporting actor at Sicily Film Fest 2016 and nominated for best directing (comedy) at the Rio Web Fest 2016.
