Fifth anniversary for Guelph medieval festival

GUELPH – The Guelph Youth Music Centre will be holding a Medieval Festival, KnightsFest on Feb. 17, from 10am to 3pm.

This family fun event has a range of activities for everyone to enjoy.

There will be displays, costumes, games, activities and entertainment, all on a medieval theme.

“Thanks to the generous support of TD, we’re so pleased to be able to present the fifth year of KnightsFest,” said Gabriella Currie-Ziegler, Executive Director of the GYMC.

“Families are looking for activities they can enjoy together without spending lots of money. Knightsfest is fun, interactive and free.

“Blackthorn Productions will be returning again. They are always a big hit and we’re pleased to be able to bring them back.

“These professionals who are well versed in the Medieval and Renaissance eras will interact with those who attend through music, costumed demonstrations, interactive games and activities, armour workshops and brass rubbings.”

Entertainment will also be provided by a magician, roaming characters and a photo booth.

Other activities include Hit the Knight, trebuchet, children’s archery, heraldry and brass rubbings.

No registration is required. For more information call 519-837-1119 or visit gymc.ca.

The Guelph Youth Music Centre is located at 75 Cardigan St., Guelph.
