Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games to receive $15,000 in federal funding

Michael Chong, Member of Parliament for Wellington-Halton Hills, today announced that the federal government will provide $15,000 of federal money to help support the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games.

This money comes from the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program.

The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage Program helps local communities celebrate their heritage, past and present.

The Program provides funds to support, through festivals and other events, local artists in their community and local groups in commemorate their local history and heritage.

“For seventy years, the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games has brought together the community in one of Canada’s largest celebrations of Scottish culture,” said Chong.

“I’m delighted to see the federal government’s ongoing support for the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games.”

Every summer, the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games provides visitors with outstanding performances in piping, drumming, highland dance and traditional Celtic music.
