FERGUS – With construction of the southern portion of St. David Street complete, the Fergus Santa Claus Parade returns to its original route this year.

The parade is set for Dec. 6 at 1:30pm with the theme “A Fairy Tale Christmas.”

The parade heads west on Hill Street, south on Maple Street, east on St. Andrew Street West, north on St. David Street, west on Hill Street and back to the A.O. Smith parking lot.

The Fergus parade is a joint effort of the Lions, Kinsmen and Optimist Clubs of Fergus.

Organizers are seeking floats and walking groups to take part. Interested parties can download a registration form at ferguslionsclub.org/fergus-santa-claus-parade-2.

Forms and questions can be emailed to Fergus.Santa.Parade@gmail.com.

Donations for the Centre Wellington Food Bank will be picked up by volunteers along the route.

Local letter carriers will also pick up letters to Santa. Be sure to include a return address so Santa can reply.
