It appears the Easter long weekend was not a fun one for a local man arrested twice within three days.

On March 29 at about 3am Wellington County OPP responded to a call on St. Andrew Street East in Fergus for a man that “was acting suspiciously.”

Police say officers attended and found a suspect trying to hide near a home on St. Patrick Street East.

Eric Jeffery Gooderham, 21, of Fergus, was arrested and charged with trespassing by night. He is to appear in Guelph court on April 24.

Two days later, on March 31 at about 6pm, police received a shoplifting call at the LCBO store on St. David Street North in Fergus.

Police say a male and female were caught on surveillance stealing product.

Gooderham and a 16-year-old female were both charged with theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000 and public intoxication.

They are to appear in Guelph court on May 1 and 2 respectively.
